Bylukuppe: Festive fervour has gripped Bylukuppe town on the eve of Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama’s 5-day visit, starting December 19.
Dalai Lama will arrive at the Seraje Tibetan Buddhist monastery at 11.30 AM on Tuesday via Kushalnagar. Roads leading to the main venue and connecting roads to various other prime Tibetan settlements have been decorated with welcome arches, buntings with edges painted in white.
Nobel laureate Dalai Lama is likely to inaugurate a large prayer hall built adjacent to Seraje monastery on December 21. The frontage of the new building has been painted with a combination of Tibetan art and Indian Rangoli’s with bright colourful shades
Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, Chitradurga Matt head Vijayaswamy, Tibetan President in exile Dr. Lobsang Tsering and speaker Khenpo Sonam Champal are likely to be present at the inaugural and accompany the Tibetan leader during the visit.
District police led by SP Ravi D Chennanvar and ASP Rudramuni have made elaborate security arrangements in view of the impending visit.
