Mysuru: In a heartening example of resilience and determination, five students from Asha Bhavana RLHP, Srirampura, and Ashakirana shelter home have cleared the SSLC examination with commendable scores. Among them, four are orphans and one is being raised by a single parent.
Hema C, who lost both parents early in life, scored an impressive 558 marks. Inspired by her teachers, she dreams of joining the teaching profession and plans to pursue a B.Ed after graduation.
Maheshwari, cared for by her grandmother, secured 505 marks. Her ambition is to become a civil engineer, and she plans to take up a diploma course followed by a B.E. in the same field.
Pushpa, a tribal student from Shivamogga, scored 419 marks. She has set her sights on becoming a teacher.
Vijaya Lakshmi, a resident of Gandhinagar, scored 335 marks and aspires to pursue B.Ed in Mathematics.
Darshan L, from Ashakirana, who also lost both parents, has decided to take up PCMB in PUC and later enter the nursing profession. His desire to serve the elderly, inspired by his parents’ struggles, fuels his ambition.
Saraswathi K, Director of RLHP, stated, “Their results prove that with care and opportunity, even children in distress can achieve on par with others. We are extremely proud of them.”
