Mysuru: With Chief Secretary of the state under scanner in a land grab case, State Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa has made it clear that law cannot be different for people depending on the posts and positions they hold.
Aravind Jadhav, the Chief Secretary of the State is caught in eye of storm after allegations have been leveled against him of grabbing land in his mother’s name.

With regard to this Thimmappa addressing a news conference in Mysuru said that said that he will look into the case file and if the Chief Secretary is found to be guilty then action will be taken against him.

“Nobody is above law,” he said.

CM not intelligent as scribes

However, when the reporters quizzed Thimmappa about how the Chief Minister could say that he was not aware of the incident, even when the media was flooded with reports about Jadhav, Thimmappa said that the CM is not as intelligent as the reporters.

Deficit of rainfall

Talking of deficient rainfall he said, the state government is collecting reports from all over the state and as of now it hints that 123 taluks are facing drought.

“The Tahsildars have been asked to conduct weekly meetings at each taluk to keep abreast of developments in order tackle severe conditions. Lakhs of people have encroached revenue land in villages and cities and the government intends to regularize all sites within December 2016 under Akrama –Sakrama scheme,” he pointed out and added that notification has already been issued by the government and even tribal people and others will be given property rights based on their eligibility according to the scheme.

As lakhs of people are deprived of a small site in the state, the scheme has been introduced to enable a resting place for each individual to lead a peaceful life in one’s lifetime, which everyone looks forward to, he said.
