In response to the tragic stampede incident in Bengaluru, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a strong protest in Mysuru, denouncing the state government’s alleged negligence.
The demonstration, led by Krishnaraja MLA T.S. Srivatsa, took place at Gandhi Circle, drawing hundreds of BJP workers, including former MLA and city BJP president L. Nagendra. Protesters carried placards and raised slogans blaming the Congress government for the death of 11 innocent people.
The protestors specifically targeted Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, accusing him of being directly responsible for the mishap. Placards carried messages condemning the “death caused by the photo-ops of Congress leaders,” with the crowd chanting slogans like “Ban Siddaramaiah” and “Down with Congress”.
BJP workers demanded justice for the victims and criticized the ruling party for allegedly prioritizing political publicity over public safety. They argued that the stampede was not a mere accident, but a consequence of poor crowd management and irresponsible governance during a government-organized event.
MLA Srivatsa, addressing the gathering, stated that the Congress-led administration had failed in its basic duty of ensuring safety at public gatherings. He called for an independent investigation and urged citizens to hold the government accountable.
The protest concluded peacefully but with a clear message — the BJP will continue to raise its voice against administrative lapses that endanger the lives of citizens.
