Mysuru: For the first time in 88 years, the Mysuru city is experiencing a blazing summer, with the temperature rising upto 37.9 degrees in March.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) data, Mysuru had witnessed temperature of upto 37.8 degrees on March 31 in 1931.
IMD has stated that in the month of March, the temperature in the city was between 33.7 degrees and 37.9, compared to a cooler summer in 2018, with a maximum temperature of 35.5 degrees in March. Officials say that the temperature might increase even more if it does not rain in a couple of days. However, IMD also predict there is no rainfall for another week.
Reportedly, lack of rainfall in the city and adjoining regions, clear sky among other reasons are responsible for the spike in the temperature.
