Mysuru: A 43-year-old man, Sadashiva, a construction laborer from Malkundi village in Nanjangud taluk, was allegedly murdered in a suspected black magic ritual.
Police reports indicate that Sadashiva was brutally attacked by unidentified assailants who slit his throat. The crime was discovered when a passerby noticed him bleeding profusely while heading to his field and alerted the villagers. At the scene, a significant amount of blood was found along with items such as betel leaves, arecanuts, lemons, and Rs 101, which are thought to be associated with black magic practices.
Sadashiva succumbed to his injuries while being transported to Nanjangud General Hospital.
PSI Chetan Kumar from Hullalli police station and his team conducted an initial investigation. The body has been sent for a postmortem at Nanjangud Government Hospital, while a police team led by Nanjangud DSP Raghu is pursuing further inquiries.
