Mysuru: As the state BJP government has decided to stop the “Shaadi Bhagya” scheme, criticisms from the Opposition leaders have begun pouring in. Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has lambasted the Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa-led BJP government for stopping the scheme.
Addressing the media on Sunday, March 8, Kumaraswamy said, “BSY government has not only let off the Shaadi Bhagya but also the wholesome development of the state has come to standstill. Constituencies from where the BJP legislators are being elected, for such constituencies too funds towards development, has not been allotted. BJP legislators of the flood-hit areas are blaming the officials saying that even though the necessary funds are released from the government, the concerned officials were not allowing the funds to reach the flood-hit areas. Hence, you can just imagine how ‘good governance’ is of the BJP government.”
HDK also claimed that Shaadi Bhagya, as well as other policies and schemes of the state government, were non-functional.
It can be recalled that earlier today, CLP leader Siddaramaiah had also criticized the BSY government for stopping Shaadi Bhagya and termed the government ‘anti-minority’.
