Hanur: A car en route to Sri Kshetra Male Mahadeshwara Hill met with an accident when the driver lost control and crashed into a house located along the main road in Mallayanpura village, causing damage to the house’s front portion.

The mishap occurred when a family from Mysuru, heading towards the sacred hill shrine, swerved to avoid hitting a cow that suddenly appeared on the road. In the process, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which then collided with the residence of Satish.

While the seat structure and front fixtures of the house were damaged, it is a relief that no one sustained any injuries. Alert locals rushed to the spot and assisted the family, preventing any panic or escalation.

So far, no police case has been filed regarding the incident.

Meanwhile, residents and commuters have raised concerns over poor road signage. With thousands of devotees traveling daily to Male Mahadeshwara Hill via cars, bikes, tempos, and buses, the absence of warning boards at sharp curves and accident-prone zones between Hanur and the hill is putting lives at risk.

Civic-minded residents have urged the Public Works Department (PWD) to install cautionary signs and speed alerts, especially for the benefit of first-time or unfamiliar drivers, to prevent future accidents along this busy pilgrimage route.
