Mysuru: While the Centre has been promoting the concept of a cashless economy to the people, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday used his debit card to withdraw cash for the first time.
The minister who was in Mysuru to inaugurate various developmental works and facilities at Krishnaraja Constituency, withdrew Rs 10,000 from the Hebbal branch of the Mysuru Merchants’ Cooperative Bank ATM after inaugurating it.
The CM decided to use his debit card, issued to him on the spot, after the bank President M N Sumana reminded him that he had a cash deposit of Rs 60,000 as dividend.
