Mysuru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) police nabbed a woman on the run, the prime accused of being the conspirator in connection with the murder of her husband, proprietor of a private school in the city.
Police arrested Radha on November 19, who along with her accomplices had smothered her husband Krishna, proprietor of Chankya School in Dattagalli area of the city.
Radha was on the run after the murder came to light during the last week of October. The murder mystery was unravelled in a drunken stupor by one of the accused in a bar in Kuvemupnagar. This conversation was overheard by a relative of Krishna, present in the bar at that time, which changed the course of investigation.
Based on those leads, police arrested Manjunath on November 8 and subsequently one more person named Manju on Novemeber 13. After grilling the accused, police zeroed in on Radha, the prime conspirator who hatched the plot.
Radha was arrested by Inspector Krishnappa based on the call details. She was hiding at a paying guest accommodation at the time of arrest, CCB sources revealed.
Radha will be produced in the court on November 20 and the CCB is likely to seek her four-day custody to interrogate further.
It may be recalled that husband “school” Krishna was murdered a year ago wherein killers smothered him in his bedroom using a pillow and managed to hoodwink police by terming it a cardiac arrest.
