Chamarajanagar: “It is commendable to see the wildlife sanctuary staff, who set aside their life and family in order to protect the wild creatures”, said Sandalwood actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, here on Thursday, December 13.
Darshan had visited the Malai Mahadeshwara Wildlife Sanctuary which is located near Hanur town and participated in the camp which was organised to create awareness against hunting.
Meanwhile, he contributed Rs 12 Lakh personally towards the welfare of wildlife sanctuary staff members working on contract basis.
Darshan said, “We need to boost the self confidence of such people. I have donated this amount to support their family and help the staff in times of emergencies like accidents or any sort of damage on the line of duty.”
“I will contact wildlife enthusiasts to bring in some more donations and funds for their betterment”, he added.
Range Forest Officer Yedukondalu, Divisional Forest Officer Rajesh and staff were present.
