H D Kote: Congress MLA Anil Chikkamadu was gheraoed by the villagers of Hirehalli on Thursday, April 4, when he was here to campaign for the Congress and Janata Dal (S) coalition candidate for Chamarajanagar Lok Sabha constituency, R Dhruvanarayana.
As Anil entered the village, people charged against his Toyota Innova car and started shouting pro Modi slogans.
The villagers were seen asking questions to Anil as to why they should vote for their coalition candidate Dhruvaranarayan while they were not even given basic facilities.
“Have you asked us in what condition are we leading our lives after the elections? Have you shown your face after winning the elections? When there is no development evident here, how are you even expecting us to vote for you? Can’t you see that we do not have road connectivity from the past seven years? Now you have come saying that you will develop the village? Should we vote for you?” villagers volleyed a series of questions.
The villagers angrily said that they would not vote for Dhruvanarayana because there was no proper drinking water facility, drainage system, road facility, and a proper house for shelter.
“In the same manner you had come during the previous election and promised a lot of things but after winning you never looked back at us”, said the villagers.
After listening to this, Anil Chikkamadu left from the village.
