Chamarajanagara: The forest officials on Sunday July 3 managed to capture the rogue tiger that had created havoc at Gopalapura Village in Gundlupete Taluk since many days.

Amid monsoon rain, Forest Personnel deployed Dasara elephant Abhimanyu and another elephant named Srikanta and succeeded in tranquilising the tiger that was hiding in the banana plantation of farmer Madappa. The veterinarian Dr. Sanath Kumar succeeded in shooting the dart at the tiger. Later, the Forest Personnel captured the big cat in the net before enclosing the animal in a cage.

The tiger had killed a cow and attacked two men leaving them grievously injured on Saturday July 2. Following the incident, Forest Personnel had installed lights around the banana plantation to keep a tab on the tiger throughout the night.
