Chamarajanagara: District In-Charge Minister V. Somanna on Saturday February 20 directed the officials to complete the construction work of the statue of Lord Male Mahadeshwara being built at Vaddarabeedu hereby March 2. He said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will inaugurate the statue either on March 7 or 8.

Somanna inspected the works of the statue and spoke to mediapersons. “It has been planned to inaugurate the mammoth statue of Mahadeshwara on the Hills at the earliest.” The Minister who directed the officials to expedite the works on the road connecting the statue said “The new hall being built on the first floor of Dasoha Bhavana will also be used for distributing prasada (food) to devotees. At a time over 3000 devotees can take the prasada.”

Minister also visited Mahadeshwara Swamy Temple during his visit. Before coming to the Hills, the Minister also inspected the progress of ongoing road works from Kollegala to Hanuru taken up under KSHIP Project. He also received grievances from people who are losing their lands for road works near Kamagere. The Minister directed the officials to issue compensation and complete the road works soon.

Deputy Commissioner D. S. Ramesh, Additional DC S. Kathyayini Devi also the Secretary of Male Mahadeshwara Development Authority, Zilla Panchayat Deputy Secretary Basavaraj, Superintendent of Police Padmini Sahoo, Assistant Commissioner Geetha Huded and other officials were present.
