Chamarajanagara: With an aim to highlight the importance of voting, students of Chamarajanagara Institute of Medical Sciences and Teaching Hospital, faculty, para-medical and nursing students took out a massive jatha in the city.
Hundreds of students enthusiastically participated in the awareness jatha organised by the District Administration in association with Zilla Panchayat, District Health and Family Welfare Department and created awareness about the importance of voting. The jatha started with large number of people from the district hospital premises in the city.
The students stood in a circle near the main gate of the District Administration Bhavan on the main road and raised voter awareness slogans. Later, the students gathered in front of the District Administration building and participated in the awareness campaign.
Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner S. Katyayini Devi said, “It is heartening to note that young voters who are students have joined the jatha in large numbers. India is the largest Democracy. The Assembly Elections will be held on May 10 this year. She said that everyone should exercise their precious right on that day.
“The main theme this time is that I will definitely vote, there is nothing more important than voting. Accordingly, everyone should vote,” said Additional Deputy Commissioner S. Katyayini Devi.
