Chamarajanagara: In a tragic incident, a woman died after falling from an autorickshaw while she was returning home after performing the last rites of an elderly woman at the Honnur Village in Yelandur Taluk on Friday December 16.
The deceased has been identified as Doddamma (49) of Honnur Village. The deceased is survived by two sons and a daughter.
A woman named Chamundamma died of age-related ailment in the Village and Doddamma had come to attend her funeral. While she was returning in an autorickshaw after the last rites of the deceased, the driver was driving at a high speed and due to his carelessness, the lady, who was sitting on the side, fell down. She suffered severe head injuries and died while being taken to a Public Hospital in Yelandur.
The relatives have lodged a complaint at the Town Police Station alleging that the auto driver’s negligent driving was the reason for this. The Police have seized the auto and auto driver has been taken into custody. An action has been initiated.
