Chamarajanagara: One of the Forest Department’s elephants has gone for a ride with wild elephants since last three months.

Bhaskara, a 10-year-old male elephant from Ramapura elephant camp, has gone with the wild elephants. He is said to have joined other elephants while grazing in the forest.

Bandipura Tiger Reserve ACF Ravi Kumar said that the elephant runs away when they see mahouts. “We have appealed to Chief Wildlife Warden to tranquilise the elephant to bring back to camp,” he said.

The pachyderm had previously joined wild elephants twice. Later officials brought Bhaskara back once from Kerala and another time from Nagarahole National Park.
