Compulsory Covid test for ILI, SARI patients in Chamarajanagara

Chamarajanagara: The District Administration has made RAT and RT – PCR tests mandatory for Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) and Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) patients visiting private hospitals.

The order has been issued on Saturday January 15 following such patients going to private hospitals fearing of tests in government hospitals.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Charulatha Somal in an order stated that if such patients’ number exceeds 100 in private hospitals, Health Department would send a team to those hospitals. DC also warned of severe action against those hospitals that violate the guideline issued by Administration.

The District Administration had already declared holidays for schools up to class 9 till January 31 to control the spread of Covid – 19.
