COVID-19: Two persons arrested in Chamarajanagar for spreading false info

Chamarajanagar: The Chamarajanagar police arrested two persons for forwarding fake messages relating to the novel coronavirus and creating chaos in the Gundlupet town in the district.

The arrests have been made based on the directions of Deputy Commissioner M R Ravi and SP H D Anand Kumar. The district health department had lodged a police complaint in this regard.

Nagendra and Lokesh are the arrested accused. Both of them allegedly spread messages that a resident of the Gundlupet town tested positive for COVID-19.

Both Nagendra and Lokesh are friends and spread the message together on social media.

It can be recalled that there are a total of 83 confirmed coronavirus cases in India. In Karnataka, six cases have been confirmed, which includes the septuagenarian in Kalaburagi who died recently. This was the first coronavirus death reported in the country.

So far, there have been two deaths in the country- one in Karnataka and one in Delhi.
