Chamarajanagara: Kollegala Rural Police has registered a case against Former RBI employee and other 9 persons on charges of fraud. It is said that one Shankar, MD of a private Hospital in Bengaluru was introduced to RBI retired employee Matheen, his friends Shivu and Mahesh by his car driver Raghu. The gang promised Shankar that they would give Rs. 1 Crore genuine currency if he gave Rs. 40 lakh.
On December 21, Matheen and his friend Musa gave 10 notes of Rs. 500 denomination. They instructed them to spend the money and said that no one would suspect. Shankar and Raghu spent the money without any suspicion. On January 7 the gang called them to Kollegala and took Rs. 10 lakh advance, later took Rs. 25 lakh and finally 5 cheques worth Rs. 5 lakh. In return, they promised to give Rs. 1 crore. But the gang never gavee anything. When Shankar pressurised for money Musa and Matheen allegedly posed life threat.
Shankar filed a complaint at Kollegala Rural Police Station. Police has registered a case and are investigating.
