Mysuru: The Chamundeshwari temple atop Chamundi Hill here has netted Rs. 1.43 crore in cash through hundi collection over the last two months.
Apart from the cash, 615 gms of gold and 2,491 gms of silver were also the part of the hundi collection along with a few currency notes of Malaysia, China, USA and UAE, according to temple sources.
The counting process was done on Monday and Tuesday under the supervision of the Temple Executive Officer A.S. Gramopadya, Nanjangud Temple Assistant Executive Officer Gangaiah and Muzrai Tahasildar S.N. Yathiraj Sampathkumaran.
The hundi counting was done under tight Police security.
