Mysuru: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) will probe the case of the alleged rape and dowry harassment of the daughter of a retired IAS officer.
Police Commissioner B Dayanand told reporters they had received a copy of the government order on Wednesday.
The complainant had lodged a complaint with Bengaluru police accusing her brother-in-law of raping her when she was eight months pregnant, and her in-laws who run a private hospital in Mysuru of harassing her for more dowry.
The case was later transferred to Mysuru where the alleged incident took place.
A Mysuru court granted the victim’s in-laws anticipatory bail but rejected the plea of the main accused. He then moved the High Court for anticipatory bail.
According to police, he is still at large.
