Mysore, Mar 28: Rajkumar Lal, divisional manager of South Western Railways launched a cleanliness awareness drive in railway stations on Friday, March 28 by distributing handouts with slogans on cleanliness to passengers. The move aims at ensuring cleanliness in railway stations.
Speaking to the reporters later, he said the drive has been launched to ensure more cleanliness at railway stations in Mysore, which are much cleaner as compared to other railway stations. He said that awareness drive will be held in 126 railway stations. The handouts have slogans like ‘Use the garbage bins in railway stations’ and ‘Do not disfigure the walls of the railway stations and trains.’
Anil Kumar, divisional railway officer said a meeting of caterers of railway station has been convened to ensure quality food is offered to passengers.
It was informed on the occasion that anyone found consuming alcohol in train bogies or misbehaving in train will be liable to a penalty of Rs 500.
On this occasion, a voter awareness programme was also launched as per the directive of the Election Commission.
