Mysuru: The state chief minister will make his maiden appearance on big screen in a children’s movie directed by Kavitha Lankesh slated for release in October.
Film buff and theatre lover, Siddaramaiah will be donning the role of good samaritan helping children in distress in a pure entertainer, according to sources.
The movie revolves around a story where children take part in an agitation akin to Diddalli tribal agitation and aims to convey a positive message to the society. CM Siddu in his 10-minute role gives a helping hand to children and fulfils their demand in a movie which is devoid of regular teaching or distress story line associated with many other children’s films.
Kavitha Lankesh’ daughters Isha , Kavitha and Samarjit, son of Indrajit Lankesh are in the star cast. After deciding to appear in the Season-3 final episode of “Weekend with Ramesh” on a private channel, Siddaramaiah seems to a have taken a special linking towards filmdom after JDS Supremo H D Devegowda too made an appearance recently.
“While studying Law, I used to act in plays and loved watching movies those days on the big screen,” said Siddaramiah and added “finally I accepted Kavita’s offer after she made several requests.”
The film shooting is set to begin during this weekend and the release is slated for October.
It remains to be seen, whether CM will dance to the beats of drums and succeed in wooing film goers instead of electorate for a change!
