Mysuru: The funeral of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s elder son Rakesh who died of multi-organ failure at Antwerp University Hospital in Belgium on Saturday, will be held on Monday, August 1.
The mortal remains which are scheduled to arrive in Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru at 9 a.m. on Monday by Emirates Airlines will be flown to Mysuru by a special aircraft. The body will be then shifted to Mysuru in the same special aircraft after completing certain formalities at the airport in Bengaluru.
The body will be kept for public viewing at the Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) grounds in Mysuru from 11 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. on Monday. Close confidant and Minister in-charge of Mysuru district, H.C. Mahadevappa inspected inspected the arrangements in KEA grounds in Doddakere Maidan opposite Mysuru palace on Sunday.
The last rites will be held at Katur in Jayapura at Siddaramaiah’s farmhouse on the outskirts of Mysuru between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, CM Siddaramaiah has expressed gratitude to the people and thanked everyone who has supported him in this hour of grief and sadness.
