Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited his native village of Siddaramanahundi for the first time after becoming the CM of the state, on Thursday to take part in the annual fair of Siddarameshwara Temple.
Keeping aside all the political commitments, the CM resided at his newly built residence and mixed with the locals like a common man, without any special status attached to him.
The temple annual festival was put on hold over the last five years as renovation works were on.
This year, the festival has been organised in a grand manner and the villagers were seen giving the credit of the temple renovation to the CM.
The CM reached his village at about 9 pm on Thursday. After circumambulating the temple premises, the CM then entered his newly built residence.
He was seen leisurely sitting on the verandah of his residence, chatting with his good old friends. At about 12.45 am he visited the temple again and became an audience to ongoing cultural programmes.
The temple fair will be held on Friday, March 25 under the CM’s supervision and guidance. It is said that lavish festive meal has been prepared for over 10,000 people since the festival is being held after a gap of five long years.
