Mysuru: Public Works Department and District In-Charge Minister Dr. H C Mahadevappa launched the specially designed logo for this year’s Dasara at the office of the Deputy Commissioner in city.
Dasara 2017 will get going from September 21 in the cultural city and this year’s celebration is likely to remain traditional yet simple.
The chief minister will formally inaugurate the 10-day long Dasara festivities at Chamundi Hills on September 21 with a floral offering to deity Chamundeshwari.
Briefing on the arrangements, Minister H C Mahadevappa said Rs 15 Crore had been set aside for this year’s Dasara celebrations. In addition, Rs 21 Crore has been allotted for the construction of roads within the city limits and Rs 118 Crore towards the construction and upgradation of 18 roads that provide connectivity to the city, he added.
For this year’s Dasara, logo has been launched almost two months in advance and a decision to retain this logo as a permanent feature for all future Dasara celebrations is likely to be taken during a meeting chaired by the chief minister, Minister Mahadevappa stated.
“The permanent logo will help in branding Dasara and frequently changing the logo results in wasting of time and focusing on logo”, Minister Mahadevappa had said while chairing a preliminary Dasara meeting during the first week of July.
