Mysuru: The ongoing Cauvery related agitations will not have any effect on Dasara celebration.
Addressing the reporters after releasing Mysuru Dasara official posters and other publicity materials at DC ofice here on Monday, Minister for Co-operation and Chamarajanaar District In-charge minister H S Mahadev Prasad said that though the last year’s Dasara celebrations were held low profile due to drought, the Dasara high power committee this year has decided to celebrate dasara on a medium scale.
“Preparations for the Dasara celebration have already gained momentum and in order to reach more people and provide more publicity to this historical festival we have come out with posters, promotional videos both in Kannada and English and jingles to air on FM channels. Dasara poster and other publicity materials will be put on display in all the taluks across the district apart from prominent places including tourist spots, airport, railway station and bus stand. These posters will not only attract the tourists but also convey the message about the preparation and various programs planned as part of Dasara festivities. The welcome committee will be looking into publicity related aspects,” he said.
Tender floated to fill potholes across the city
Many thorough fares across the city are in need of attention. One can see big potholes in most of the roads. Some of the potholes are nothing but death trap. When this was brought to the notice of Mahadev Prasad he said “Already tender has been floated for Rs four crore to take up work related to filling up of potholes across the city. The work will be taken at the earliest and roads will be free from potholes”.
