DC office to resemble Lalitha Palace; blue print approved

Mysuru: The much-awaited Mysuru Deputy Commissioner’s Office ‘blue print’ has been approved by the State Government on Saturday July 25.

 Reportedly, the new three-storied building for Mysuru Deputy Commissioner’s Office is planned to be constructed at the premises of Government of India Textbook Press (GITBP), popularly known as German Press, at Siddarthanagar in city.

Addressing the media District Minister V. Sreenivasa Prasad, informed the new DC office building will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 126 crore that resembles Lalitha Mahal Palace in city.

The building will house more than 20 departments, besides meeting halls, parking lot and other facilities. The present DC’s Office is housed in a heritage building that was built between 1887 and 1895 at a cost of Rs. 1.75 lakh.
