Mysuru: The mother of deceased BJP leader Raju urged Opposition leader K S Eshwarappa to provide security to the family as they have been receiving threats.
Eshwarappa was on city to console the kin of the BJP leader, Raju Kyathemaranahalli, a right wing activist who was hacked to death by miscreants at Netaji Circle on March 13. The deceased leader’s mother said that they fear for life as few bike borne miscreants had assembled near their house even after the murder took place. Police have not taken any action in this regard. “We need security as one section of the community has threatened us,” she said.

After meeting the deceased leader’s family members, Eshwarappa spoke to media persons and said, “It is a planned murder. The murderers have also created ruckus when they were returning from funeral. The government has failed to take any action in this regard,” he alleged.

Lashing out at the state government, he said, “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has not visited the family even though it is his home constituency. Home Minister G Parameshwara has said that few suspects have been traced and arrest will be made at the earliest, on the other hand police have declared cash prize to whoever gives clue about the murderers. The government is giving contradictory statements,” he alleged.

“There is an attempt to close the case by the government,” he added.
