Mysuru: The Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru has warned of shutting down drinking water bottling units operating without valid ISI and FSSA certification by the agencies exclusively formed to regulate such units.
Disclosing the details after a meeting, DC Randeep said several complaints had been received from the public in this regard in city corporation as well as village limits. The packaging and bottling units are not supposed to operate without valid clearances from certifying units like ISI (Indian Standards Institute) and FSSA (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) wherein certain parameters on cleanliness and quality have to be met.

The ones found violating the guidelines will be permanently shut, he warned.

Public is informed to convey any information on unauthorised units to the heads of investigating agencies formed for the purpose, DC informed.

Food Quality Control Officer H N Satish, Mysore City Corporation Commissioner J Jagadish and Zilla Panchayath CEO Shivashankar were present during the briefing.
