ED seizes fixed assets of convicts’ serving life sentence

Mysuru : The Enforcement Directorate (ED), in the backdrop of allegations about amassing illegal wealth by a former city corporator and his brother seized their assets during a raid recently. Both brothers are serving life sentence after they were convicted in a double murder case.

Many complaints were lodged against former corporator C Mahadesha and his brother C Mnaju over amassing wealth by extortion and other illegal means.

A case was registered against them and ED officials, taking cognisance of their financial offenses raided the residences and those of their relatives. Fixed assets, mainly buildings running into crores of rupees were attached during the raids, confirmed a notification released by ED office in Bengaluru.
