Mysuru:
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified its probe into irregularities linked to the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), with fresh seizures of property worth ₹100 crore. This brings the total value of assets attached in the case to ₹400 crore.
In the latest action, the ED seized 92 residential sites believed to have been allotted in violation of land regulations. These sites, allegedly acquired by influential individuals including public servants and political figures, were identified as part of ongoing investigations into large-scale procedural lapses in land allocation.
The ED’s entry into the MUDA case gained momentum after allegations involving land allotments related to senior political figures surfaced. Previously, the agency had attached 160 plots with an estimated market value of ₹300 crore.
The Enforcement Directorate’s involvement comes in the wake of a Lokayukta probe in which a B report was filed in a high-profile case. However, the complainant, Snehamii Krishna, has legally contested the B report in court, prompting renewed scrutiny into the alleged irregularities.
The latest developments have reignited discussions around the controversial “50:50 site sharing” mechanism, which had previously raised concerns about fairness in land distribution.
Officials have confirmed that the investigation is progressing swiftly and more disclosures are expected.
