Mysuru: A pet dog was killed on the spot after allegedly eating an explosive substance at Kappasoge Village in
Nanjanagudu Taluk on Monday November 15.

A pet dog of Mahesh named “Belli” died on the spot due to the blast of explosive substance in its mouth. It is said that the explosive substance was kept to hunt wild animals near Madahalli Gudda in Kappasoge Village.

Mahesh’s father, Siddamallaiah who went to graze cattles at Madahalli Gudda was accompanied by Belli. During the time a huge sound with a smoke engulfed the spot. Soon Siddamallaiah realised that that Belli was severely injured in the mouth and died instantly.

Now villagers are demanding a detailed probe into the incident as they are fearful about the safety of their cattle.
