Mysuru: Nine youth form Rayanahundi villages shaved their heads off on the 11th day ceremony (Thithi) to remember Rakesh Siddaramaiah and later poured milk (Abhishekha) on his large cut-out in respect of their icon’, T.Katur farm on Aug 11.
Around 5000 people gathered to witness this ceremony, who were all served both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food on the occasion. Chief Minister Siddaramiah was first among many others to visit the tomb and offer floral tributes and pay homage to his son.
Notable among guests during the ceremony were PWD minister HC Mahadevappa, Cooperation minister HS Mahadeva Prasad, Food and Civil supplies minister UT Khader, Kannada and culture minister Umashri . The suspended leaders who rebelled against JDS- Cheluvaraya Swamy, Ramesh Bandi Siddegowda, Zameer Ahmed, Balakrishna and Akhanda Srinivas Murthy were seen among the guests interacting closely with the chief minister on the occasion.
It may be recalled that Rakesh Siddaramiah, elder son of state chief minister died on Aug 30th at Belgium University hospital due to multiple organ failure. His body was brought to the city on Aug 1st and buried later at his T.Katur farm on the outskirts of Mysuru city.
