Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s son began campaigning on behalf of his father at Chamundeshwari Assembly constituency for next year’s elections by offering prayers to deity Chamundeshwari.

According to reliable sources, Siddaramaiah is likely to contest from Chamundeshwari Assembly constituency and vacate the Varuna seat for his son Yatindra, who is going to test his political fortunes for the first time. Later, Yathindra took part in a meeting at Gunjral Chhatra Gram Panchayat, signalling his father’s intention to contest from the constituency.

It may be recalled that during the last Assembly elections, Siddaramaiah shifted to Varuna after the election commission’s delimitation process and won the seat by a convincing margin.

Prior to that, in a hard-fought battle CM Siddramaiah had won the Chamundeshwari seat with wafer thin majority, which eventually changed his political fortunes.

Son Yathindra from Varuna ?
Yatinda will be making his maiden entry into electoral politics and plans to contest from Varuna Assembly segment, a seat currently held by his father. He has already held several village level meetings in the constituency and has undertaken developmental works to woo the electorate. During his meetings, he has repeatedly requested the people of Varuna to bless him this time, signalling his intention to enter electoral politics.
