Mysuru: In a bizarre incident, two foreign students bit the fingers of an auto driver following an altercation after an accident on Tuesday, August 2.
Two Tanzanian students had a verbal duel with an auto driver following a collision between their bike which they were riding and an auto at Nelson Mandela Road in Bannimantap. The Tanzanian duo bit the fingers of the auto driver and tried to flee. Alert members in the public managed to catch hold of one of them. The students have been identified as M Winyei and Khert both studying at St Philomena’s College.
The auto driver, identified as Farooq Ahmed, a resident of B.M. Shri Nagar, after dropping a passenger near KSRTC bus depot on Nelson Mandela Road was taking a turn when Winyei and Khert, riding a bike rammed into the auto resulting in toppling of the vehicle. Though all the three escaped without any injuries, when Farooq questioned the duo, both bit his fingers and tried to flee. One of them was caught by the public.
Farooq later lodged separate complaints against the duo at N.R. Traffic Police Station for the accident and also at N.R. Police Station for biting his fingers. There are nearly 2000 foreign students in Mysuru who are pursuing various courses.
