Mysuru: Foreigner S Thimothy John who was jailed on charges of buying land from a farmer by furnishing forged documents is once again in news for wrong reasons. John who is a member of Prison Advisery Board, also gave fake documents to become a member of the board.
Fake documents to get original one!

A resident of Kumbarakoppal, he has in possession an Adhaar card (no. 443745434951) and voter’s ID (TZG 3316577) like any other Indian. Timothy John, who also possesses an Overseas Citizenship of India certificate. To get documents in his name that he is a Indian, he produced fake documents and local government officials have helped him.

John was arrested on?July 4 2015, following a complaint by Tahsildar Naveen Joseph. In his complaint to Nazarbad police on July 2, the tahsildar had accused John of producing fake documents to purchase land at?Rammanahalli in Mysuru taluk. John in connivance with the Revenue department officials was succeeded in obtaining a fake?RTC for an agricultural land at a different place (a prerequisite to be a land holder to buy agricultural lands) to buy 1.19 acres of land (survey number 69/1) at Rammanahalli. He later bought 33 guntas of land (survey no 69/6) at Rammanahalli again.

Quoting the law in India that prohibits any foreigner from purchasing agricultural lands, the tahsildar had replied in the negative in his report to the assistant commissioner. The revenue inspector, identified as Umesh, who allegedly helped John in facilitating the purchase.

A complaint was registered against by the Tahshildar against the revenue inspector at the rural police station. Both were arrested and now they are out on bail. After investigation, the land has been seized from the accused.

Ironically, Thimothy John who was jailed for forging documents and cheating is still a member of the Prison Advisory Board.

The Grace Education Society at Kumbarakoppal also belongs to Timothy John, who was born and brought up in Mysuru before he became a U.S. citizen in 2007.
