Mysuru: A jeep driver employed in state forest department was critically injured when a wild jumbo attacked him in Veerana Hosahalli limits of Nagarahole Wild Reserve on January 9.
Madan Kumar is the injured jeep driver.
The incident occurred when a herd of eight elephants rushed towards the school in Veerana Hosahalli village limits bordering Nagarahole Forest Reserve in Hunsur taluk . Forest staffers swung into action to chase the elephants back into the forest to prevent them from entering human habitats this morning.
During the operation, one tusker suddenly rushed towards Madan and injured him with its tusks.
A grievously injured Madan Kumar was rushed to the hospital immediately but his condition is stated to be critical.
