Mysuru: NR Group, the agarbathies to aerospace conglomerate and owners of Mysuru Warriors appointed former Indian cricketer Venkatesh Prasad as the mentor for the team. He is the bowling coach for Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League and also served as the bowling coach of the Indian cricket team in 2007-2009.
“This is an exciting addition to the Mysuru Warrior family. We are very sure that Venkatesh will take the team to the next level. We are confident that the team will learn and perform exceptionally under the able guidance of Prasad. He is a very senior and an acclaimed cricketer. We wanted to get some latest techniques in the team and hence we brought Venkatesh Prasad as the mentor to the team. We welcome him to the team”, said Arjun Ranga, Owner, Mysuru Warriors and Managing Director, Cycle Pure Agarbathies. He also mentioned that the present team was well balanced with best bowlers and batsmen in the team.
“I am thrilled to be joining the Mysuru Warrior team for this season of KPL 2018. The team consists of balanced number of freshers and experienced players. I hope to bring the best out of each of them and offer some exciting cricket this season”, said Venkatesh Prasad.
Modelled on the lines of IPL, the 20-20 tournament is organised by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and will witness the competition between 7 teams. Started in 2009, the Karnataka Premier League is now in its seventh season which will commence on August 15. The final phase of matches including both the semis will be held in Mysuru from August 31 to September 6.
