Mysuru Rural Police have arrested four individuals involved in the theft of submersible water pumps, recovering 11 stolen pumps and seizing Rs. 18,000 in cash. Additionally, the police confiscated an Ashok Leyland goods vehicle, an Ape goods auto, a Tata Indica car, a passenger auto, and a commercial LPG cylinder.
The arrested individuals are 24-year-old Jafar Sadiq alias Baba from Nehru Nagar, 35-year-old Mohammed Moiuddin alias Bihari from Raghavendranagar, 25-year-old Abdul Jameel alias PK from Bharat Nagar, and Nayaz Khan alias Bengaluri from Tanveer Sait Nagar. They were apprehended during a morning patrol in Bharat Nagar on Thursday.
While patrolling, the police noticed an Ashok Leyland goods vehicle (KA-46-5438) moving suspiciously. Upon intercepting and inspecting the vehicle, the police discovered four submersible water pumps inside. Interrogation of the suspects revealed that the pumps were stolen, leading to their immediate arrest.
Further questioning unveiled the extent of their criminal activities. The accused were linked to multiple theft cases: one each in the Mysuru Rural, Arakere, and Kavalande Police limits; two cases in T. Narasipur Police limits; and three cases in Hullahalli Police limits.
The successful operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional SP L. Nagesh. The team included Inspector Dr. M.L. Shekar, Sub-Inspector K.A. Chandra, Assistant Sub-Inspector Satish, and staff members Abdul Lathif, Bhaskar, Ashok, C.K. Mahesh, Vishwanath, Sunil Kumar, and Driver Sanjay.
