Mysuru: The onward journey of elephants towards world renowned Mysore palace (Gajayapayana) has been rescheduled thrice by the district administration to accommodate the wishes of District In-charge Minister H C Mahadevappa.
Initially, the district administration indicated that the elephants will start their journey on August 10 and reach the place by August 14. In a sudden reversal of decision, the same evening, another release said that elephants would leave their respective camps on August 14 and reach Mysuru palace by August 17.
In a latest development, Deputy Commissioner D Randeep said the elephants would start their onward journey on August 12 and reach the palace premises by August 14 exposing the lack of coordination among the organisers even before the start of the prestigious festival.
Flex banners have been put up across the city to indicate the new schedule.
