Gundlupet: Geetha Mahadev Prasad, wife of late minister H S Mahadev Prasad and Congress candidate for Gundlupet Assembly segment, coming heavily on MP Prathap Simha for a recent statement of his, said that Simha has proved that the BJP has scant respect for women.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, she said that the MP’s statement is an insult on women in general and the voters will teach BJP a lesson in the by-polls.
It may be mentioned that Pratap Simha, during a campaign on Saturday, had said that Geetha Prasad is greedy for power.
“She enjoyed all the powers when her husband was a minister. Soon after performing the final rituals of Mahadev Prasad, Geetha has joined politics in pursuit of power,” the MP had said.
Former minister and BJP leader M P Renukacharya, during his campaign for BJP candidate C S Niranjan Kumar too had endorsed Simha’s views and said that the Congress pitched Geetha only to cash the sympathy votes.
Congress party leaders, including Mysuru former Zilla Panchayat president Pushpa Amarnath among others, threatened?to launch a protest against BJP leaders for their remarks against Geetha Prasad.
