Mysuru: A teenage girl ended life by consuming poison reportedly because she had failed in first PUC examination.
The deceased is Sahana (17) daughter of Murthy and Bhagyamma couple of Chekkuru of HD Kote.
Sahana was living with her grandmother at Jinnahalli and was a student of Hombarahalli Private Pre University College.
The I PUC results were out on Thursday and she had failed in the examination. After knowing this, the girl resorted to consuming poison during mid night.
On the other hand, her younger brother Sanjay who lives with his parents at Chekkur was unaware of the death of his elder sister and had gone to school to appear for his seventh standard examination.
His parents wanted to inform him about the death only after he was back from school.
A case has been registered at H D Kote police station.
