MYSURU: A government vehicle, registration number KA-01-G-6601, has accumulated a total penalty of Rs. 18,000 for 21 traffic violations over the past two months. The infractions were recorded between July and August 2024, with fines ranging from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,000 per violation.

The e-challan data from the Karnataka Police (https://echallan.ksp.gov.in/) reveals a pattern of repeated offences. On July 14, the vehicle was fined for overspeeding in Bilagumba (Ramanagara). The following days saw multiple incidents, including seatbelt violations on July 18 at Siddalingapura and overspeeding at various locations such as Madanayakanahalli and Gejjalagere KMF.

By July 29, the vehicle had been booked for overspeeding at several spots, including Bilagumba and near Hulthar State Forest. Additional violations included not wearing seatbelts on July 31. In August, the vehicle continued to breach regulations, with penalties for both overspeeding and seatbelt offences on August 1 and 2.

This series of violations underscores a significant lapse in adherence to traffic laws and highlights the need for more rigorous enforcement and improved compliance. The repeated nature of these infractions suggests systemic issues that require attention.
