Mysuru: After the successful construction of two hi-tech public conveniences (toilet) at a cost of nearly a crore rupees each, atop Chamundi Hill and the Mysuru Palace premises, the district administration in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mysuru is all set to come out with another such facility at the Sri Srikanteshwaraswamy Temple premises in Nanjangud which is also called Dakshina Kashi.
Devotees and tourists come not only from across the state but also from other states and foreign countries to Sri Srikanteshwaraswamy Temple.Their usual complaint is the lack of a hygienic toilet facility at the temple premises. This will now be a thing of the past as, using the corporate social responsibility fund, the district administration will be setting up hi-tech toilet facilities at the temple premises.
The proposed facility will have separate toilet facilities for both men and women. In all, 16 urinal points for men and 15 cubicles for women, and two western toilets will also be set up. Apart from this, a child care facility including a breast feeding room, will also be provided. The work for the proposed project will begin in March or April.
Speaking to Newskarnataka, D Randeep, Deputy Commissioner, Mysuru said, “Just like the Chamundi Hill temple, everyday hundreds of people come to the Nanjundeshwara temple. Hundreds of people come to the temple especially during the Jathra season, and the number only increases. After seeing that there was no proper hygienic toilet facility, we decided to set up a hitech toilet facility for the people. The work will begin in a few days time and will be completed by the end of this year.”
