Mysuru, Karnataka :The upcoming Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara 2025, scheduled from September 22 to October 2, will witness the spectacular return of the Indian Air Force (IAF) Air Show after a gap of over a year. The Union Ministry of Defence has granted formal approval for the aerial display, making it one of the star attractions of this year’s celebrations.
Sarang Team to dazzle spectators
The renowned Sarang Team of the IAF, flying indigenous Dhruv helicopters developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), is set to perform on September 27. Audiences can expect breathtaking formations, precision flying, and high-skill stunts that promise to light up the Mysuru skies.
The aerial display is expected to instil a sense of pride and patriotism among lakhs of visitors who attend the 11-day festival each year.
Talks on fighter jet participation
Mysuru Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy confirmed that the District Administration is in discussions with the Defence Ministry to include fighter jets in the show. If approved, this addition will further elevate the grandeur of the Dasara Air Show 2025.
CM expresses gratitude to Defence Minister
Following the formal approval, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah thanked Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for granting consent. In his communication, the CM highlighted the significance of the Air Show in inspiring patriotism among festivalgoers and extended a personal invitation for the Minister to attend the event.
Siddaramaiah had earlier met Rajnath Singh in Delhi on July 9 to seek permission for the aerial display. DC Lakshmikanth Reddy had subsequently received an oral nod from the Defence Ministry, and with the formal sanction now in place, the Dasara Air Show 2025 is officially confirmed.
History of the Dasara Air Show
The Dasara Air Show has been conducted previously in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2023 at the Torchlight Parade Grounds in Bannimantap. Each edition drew massive crowds, leaving spectators in awe of India’s defence capabilities and precision flying skills.
