Infosys Co-Founder Narayana Murthy conferred Doctorate at Mysuru University

Mysuru: Governor Vajubai Vala conferred Honorary Doctorate to Infosys Co-Founder N R Narayana Murthy and Niti Ayoga and Defence Scientist Vijay Kumar Saraswath during the 96th convocation of the University of Mysore, coinciding with its centenary year which was held on April 11.
Ari Adichunchanagiri Shishana Trust President Nirmalanandanatha Swami, who was supposed to receive doctorate skipped the programme due to prior commitments.

Over 17,221 women received the degree along with 11,466 men.

A total of 461 candidates received Ph.D., out of which 176 were women and 285 were men.

Out of 28,687 candidates, 7,189 candidates were conferred with master’s degree. Of them, 3,845 are women. Of the 21,037 candidates who received Bachelor’s degree, 13,200 were women.

Higher Education minister T B Jayachandra and Mysuru Vice-chancellor Prof K S Rangappa were present.
