Mysuru: The inter-religious couple, N Ashitha and Shakeel Ahmed, held their wedding reception here on Sunday.
The wedding reception (Walima) took place amid tight security. No untoward incident took place during the ceremony.

The pre-wedding bangle ritual, ‘bale shastra’, took place on Saturday at the bride’s house at Mandya. Then the couple with their families left to Mysuru.

It’s rumored that their Nikah (the Muslim wedding ceremony) took place secretly in Mandya and Ashitha changed her name to Shaista. It’s unclear at this point if they tied the knot.

The newly-married couple and their families arrived at the Taj Convention Hall in Bannimantap locality, with police security.

Dignitaries like writer K S Bhagwan, journalist Gowri Lankesh, former minister M S Athmananda, women’s rights activist K S Vimala and former MLA G B Shivakumar were present.
