Mysuru: The Mysuru district administration as a part of International Yoga Day which is aiming to create Guinness record by performing mass Yoga performance at Mysuru palace premise, Harding circle, D Devaraj Urs Road, Maharaja’s College oval grounds and surrounding areas, based on the advice by Guinness Book of World Records representatives, has now shifted the venue to Mysuru Race Course. Two full fledged rehearsals scheduled on June 18 and main event on June 21 will now be held at Mysuru Race Course from 6 am to 8 am.

D Randeep, Deputy Commissioner said, “We had registered Mysuru Palace and surrounding areas as single venue for Guinness Book of World Records. The representatives of the agency rejected Mysuru Palace and surrounding areas as single venue and mentioned that it can be considered only as multiple locations. Hence with no other option left as we are aiming for single venue record where 60,000 Yoga enthusiasts are expected to take part, we decided to shift the venue to Mysuru Race Course which has the capacity to accommodate more than 70000 people.”

Mysuru district administration will also be going for chain link Yoga record where more than 5000 people will be performing three different Asanas which has been created in 2014 at Perumbudur in Tamil Nadu by Vidyashala School with 3000 students. The chain link Yoga will be performed at Mysuru Palace premise on June 19 between 8.30 am to 10 am. The rehearsal will be held at the same venue on June 17 from 8.30 am to 10 am.

Yoga enthusiasts, who want to be a part of the International Yoga Day celebration on June 21, should get free tickets at race course premise and enter barcode before entry. Already more than 18,000 people have confirmed their participation by registering online.
